Joy Chiaki Doane
ATTORNEY

Joy (she/her) is passionate about accessibility to legal services – she believes everyone has the right to be heard. Seeing the challenges her mother faced as an immigrant from Japan, she never wants anyone to feel like they are hopeless in seeking help, whether it be due to a language barrier, fear, or general intimidation by the American legal system. Joy loves using creativity and visuals to bring her client’s cases to life.  

 

Joy graduated cum laude from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College where she received the Best Oral Advocate award and served on the Lewis and Clark Animal Law Review as an Associate Editor. She was also nominated as a candidate for Advocate of the Year by Honorable Judge Benjamin Souede in her Trial Advocacy course at the Multnomah County Courthouse. While earning her law degree, and prior to becoming a Law Clerk for Kristen and Megan, Joy worked at a non-profit family law firm helping low-income families, individuals, and survivors of domestic violence have access to legal services. 

 

Joy graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Japanese. She is fluent in Japanese.
